Tiny Garden War is a free browser lane-defense strategy game about holding a garden against waves of zombies. The lawn in front of your house is divided into rows, and the dead shuffle in from the right side of every one of them. Between the seed packets at the top of the screen and the zombies at the gate stands whatever you decide to plant, where you decide to plant it. Every battle starts before the zombies do. The game shows you which of them are coming, and you pick the seed packets to bring. Sun falls from the sky and pours out of your sun-producing flowers, and each packet costs a set amount of it, so the opening of a level is a small economy: plant collectors early and you can afford real defenses later, plant nothing but attackers and you may win the first wave and lose the third. A gap in any lane is an invitation, so the row nobody covered is usually the one the next zombie wanders down. The roster covers more jobs than shooting. Some plants make sun, some slow, some block, and some exist for one moment: cherry bombs, hot chilis and squashes that flatten whatever stepped on them. The instant ones cost more and recharge slowly, which makes them less a plan and more an emergency brake. The shovel digs up a plant you no longer need, freeing the tile for something the situation now calls for. And if everything fails, a mower waits at the end of each lane, clearing the row once before leaving it undefended. The campaign runs through fifty levels across five areas, and the garden keeps changing under your feet: a sunny front lawn, a dark night garden, a swimming pool, heavy fog and a rooftop. Alongside the story sit dozens of mini-games and an endless survival mode, where the waves keep coming to see how long the setup holds. Tiny Garden War has nothing to do with football. It is a strategy game about budgets, lanes and keeping calm while the dead walk in a straight line toward your house.
