Wave Race is a free browser one-button arcade game about flying an arrow through hostile tunnels. The arrow moves forward on its own, and your only input is height: hold to climb, release to fall. That single control traces a jagged wave across the screen, which is where the name comes from, and the tunnels are built to punish every wrong inch of it. Holding the button sends the arrow up at an angle, and if you keep it held against the ceiling, it slides along the top until you let go. Releasing drops it just as sharply. Nothing about this can be improvised late: good runs are decided by early adjustments, made a beat before a spike or a rotating gear arrives. Press too hard and you smack into the ceiling; let go a moment too soon and you sink straight into the next hazard. Spikes, walls, cogs, slopes and passages barely wider than the arrow itself fill the route. There are three ways to play, all on the same controls. Classic runs through 33 selectable levels that keep tightening the gaps as they go. Endless removes the finish line and pays out for pure distance. Race puts other arrows on the track and turns the same course into a sprint to the line. Pick based on mood: learn a track, beat a record, or beat somebody to it. Crashing ends an attempt on the spot, which is exactly why the practice checkpoints matter: they let you drill the one section that keeps ending your runs instead of replaying the whole track every time. Runs stay short on purpose, and the loop of fail, adjust, clear is the game's real engine. Along the way there are skins to unlock, so your arrow can at least crash in style.
